The purpose of IALA is to advise ILF leadership on academic library issues and support the outreach, recruitment, and retention of academic library affiliated members in ILF.

The Indiana Academic Library Association (IALA), an affiliation of the Indiana Library Federation (ILF), acts as the agent for the Indiana Chapter of the Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL), a division of the American Library Association (ALA).

Crossroads: The Journal of Indiana Libraries

Crossroads: The Journal of Indiana Libraries is an up-and-starting peer reviewed, open access scholarly journal that is published by the Indiana Library Federation (ILF) in partnership with Indiana Academic Library Association (IALA), Indiana Black Librarians Network (IBLN), Academic Libraries of Indiana (ALI), and Private Academic Library Network of Indiana (PALNI).

Do you have ideas or efforts that you feel are worth sharing with other Indiana libraries? Have you adopted processes or tools that have helped improve services or enhance efficiencies? Do you have tips for how you solved a small problem that has benefitted your library? If so, we would love for you to write up your idea and submit it to our journal. We are seeking submissions in the form of Articles, Case Studies, Essays, or Practice Notes related to any type of library in the state of Indiana (public, school, academic, etc.).

During our launch meeting for Crossroads at the Indiana Library Federation session, one of the topics we heard people are interested in reading about is leadership. To that end, we are soliciting nominations for people that you all feel are exceptional leaders in your organizations.

We hope to reach out to them to see if they will consider writing something about leadership. Please send an email to [email protected] with names of anyone you feel matches what we are looking for.
